Why is it named a literature museum?
Built in the Japanese colonial period, the police quarters on Lequn Street in the West District were important historical buildings in Taichung. In an effort to preserve buildings with historical significance and highlight the achievements of local litterateurs, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government renovated and repurposed the quarters as the Taichung Literature Museum. The Museum is mainly used to exhibit and study Taichung literature. With diverse and lively exhibitions and interactive devices, the Museum aims to serve such purposes as literature education.
